Custom Steel Handrails

Steel handrails fabricated to the exact rise and run of your stairs, ramp or walkway.

Home › Services › Handrails

A handrail is the single rail fixed along a staircase, ramp or walkway for support, distinct from a balustrade’s full barrier system, and Adonai Steel Fabrications builds custom steel handrails fitted to the exact rise, run and fixing points of the structure they’re going on.

Getting the fit right

Follows the true pitch of your stairs

Like balustrades, handrails have to follow the true angle of the stairs or ramp they’re fitted to, which is rarely a standard pitch on an existing structure. We measure the rise, run and any landings on-site and fabricate the handrail to that exact geometry.

Our process

How we build it

01

Measure

We measure the rise, run and any landings on-site.

02

Confirm standard

We confirm the height and any access or safety standard that applies.

03

Fabricate & install

We fabricate to those measurements and install.

FAQs

Common questions

A handrail is a single rail for hand support along stairs, ramps or walkways, while a balustrade is a full barrier system — usually a handrail plus infill bars or panels — used where a fall risk needs to be enclosed, such as a balcony or elevated deck.

Yes — handrail height is set by the relevant Australian building standard for the application (residential stairs, public access, disability access), and we fabricate to the standard that applies to your project.

Yes — if the staircase doesn’t have a fall-risk requiring a full barrier, a standalone handrail fixed to the wall or stringer is often all that’s needed, and we can assess this on-site.
